How to get to Makunduchi Beach

To get to Makunduchi Beach, you’ll first need to travel to Zanzibar Islands. The easiest way to reach Zanzibar is by flying into Zanzibar International Airport, Kisauni.

From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a shared shuttle to Makunduchi. The journey from the Airport to Makunduchi and its nearest village like Kizimkazi takes one hour, depending on traffic and road conditions. Another option is to arrange for a private transfer with your hotel or tour operator like us in advance. Organizing your private transfer in advance is the best option if you visit Zanzibar for the Holiday, price for the transfer ranges $40 – $60.

If you’re traveling from Tanzania mainland, you can take a ferry from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar, which takes approximately 2 hours. After arriving at Zanzibar Port, you can hire a taxi or take a shared shuttle which move to Makunduchi Beach.

Some people use Daladala because it is a cheap option, but be prepared for an uncomfortable ride, especially if you’re prone to motion sickness.
